Auxiliary Volunteer Efforts During the COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place
- Donations to the Activity Packets
AbilityPath staff have been providing Activity Packets to adult participants since the shelter-in-place order was initiated. Participants receive a weekly Activity Packet; the activities/projects vary each week. AbilityPath staff deliver the packets to homes from South San Francisco to San Jose. In the first week of April, 24 packets were delivered, and now approximately 100 packets are provided each week. Auxiliary members have generously donated supplies needed for these packets.
- Notes of Support
These are handwritten notes of encouragement to participants (and also to AbilityPath staff). A few words on a card make all the difference! The cards are included with weekly Activity Packets, or mailed directly by AbilityPath to participants.
- Zoom Lunch Dates
Auxiliary members enjoy weekly Zoom meetings with participants. AbilityPath staff organize and moderate these sessions. The participants are so happy to see everyone; this contact with the outside world is really important to them.
- Scarf making
Auxiliary members have been busy making fleece scarves lately! We will be providing over 100 fleece scarves for inclusion in the participants’ holiday gift bags.
